Project Scope:
The proposed site is the side of a privately owned garage, measuring 24’2” long by 88” high. The site may be painted onto directly, or the artist may submit a design incorporating panels attached to the structure. The artist(s) will be responsible for the design, execution, and installation (if necessary) of the artwork. The artist will be expected to submit finalized designs, maintain records of expenses, and supply progress reports to Craven Arts Council during the duration of the project. The artist shall receive a $500 stipend for the project, and reimbursed for materials utilized in the creation of the project. As this project is intended to be a learning and career experience for the selected artist, Craven Arts Council & gallery will provide technical support and training as needed to the artist. The exact nature and extent of this will be discussed when the artist is selected. Project Theme: The identified theme for the project is “Hawai’i,” and the proposed rendering should feature imagery relevant to this theme (palm trees, fronds, le’ahi). Suggested colors include green and yellow, but need not be exclusively these colors. Additionally, it is requested that that the colors utilize tones, tints, and shades instead of pure, bright colors. |
