Submission deadline: Midnight, May 24 Artwork drop off: June 25 and 26 Artwork pick up: July 30 and 31 Stacked is an upcoming exhibition that highlights eastern North Carolina artists with a twist. Artists are invited to submit their works to be featured on the face of a custom printed deck of playing cards. Each participating artist will draw a card from a deck to choose which card their artwork will be on. Craven Arts Council & Gallery will handle printing the deck and will feature all of the artwork in an exhibition in the Main Gallery at the Bank of the Arts in July of 2021. Each artist will receive one deck of cards at the exhibition as part of their entry fee. Artists must submit online to Cravenarts.org by midnight May 24th at an entry fee of $15 for CAC&G members and $20 for nonmembers.
Once you enter, you may come by the Bank of the Arts to draw your card or call us and we will draw a card for you! |

Does the piece have to be drawn onto a card?
Nope! All we need is a high quality image to be printed onto the card.
Does it have to fit the card/ be card size?
Nope! We will crop the image to fit the size of a card.
Does it have to be related to the card or in the style of the card?
Nope! You will draw your card or a staff will draw your card after submission so it does not need to be related to the card selected for you. When you submit online a staff member will draw your card.
Can I submit my image later?
Yes! We must have all images by May 24th, but if you would like to go ahead and reserve your spot and send the image later, that works! Please send all images to [email protected] and let us know that the file attached is for your Stacked Submission.

Terms and Conditions
Eligibility: Open to any artist residing or working in eastern North Carolina. For purposes of this exhibition all area east of US I-95 within the state boundaries shall constitute as eastern North Carolina.
-Deadline: 11:59pm, May 24th, or until all cards are drawn whichever comes first. Due to the nature of the exhibition, there will only be 54 pieces accepted. Once 54 artists have submitted to the exhibition the call will close. Craven Arts Council will open a waitlist for the exhibition for those artists wishing to be notified of dropped artists.
-Each artist may submit once and draw one card. There will be no redraws. If submitting online, Craven Arts Council & Gallery will draw a card for the artist and notify them of the result.
-All artists must provide a high quality photograph of their work before 5pm, May 25th, 2021. If the artist fails to provide a suitable high enough quality image by this deadline, their work will be dropped from the exhibition and deck, and a waitlisted artist will be notified.
-All artwork on the cards must be available for exhibition in Bank of the Arts for the month of July 2021. These works do not need to be offered for sale.
-All works must be the original creation of the artist. For the purpose of this exhibition only, Craven Arts Council & Gallery will accept prints and reproductions of the original artwork if the original is unavailable.
-Each participating artist will receive one free deck of the printed cards for their participation. Additional decks may be purchased at a discounted rate for participating artists.
- Artists reserve all copyright to the artworks in any manner. However, artists grant permission for the reproduction of such artworks by Craven Arts Council for promotional and other business purposes, including the use of the work in the printing of a deck of cards.
-Artwork may be any dimension or scale, hover the artist understands and agrees to allow Craven Arts Council & Gallery to crop their submitted digital image for the purposes of formatting for the playing cards. CAC&G shall have full discretion to crop the image as they so choose, without consulting the artist.
-Artist shall complete a standard Exhibition Contract with Craven Arts Council & Gallery.
