Empty Bowls Returns to New Bern

The Empty Bowls event held at Temple Baptist Church on February 9, was an overwhelming success thanks to the many sponsors, soup providers, contributing artists, volunteers and attendees. 

Empty Bowls is a nationwide effort to help feed the hungry. Begun in 1990 by Michigan art teacher, John Hartom, Empty Bowls now raises millions of dollars for local communities to assist their less fortunate members. In New Bern, Empty Bowls is co-sponsored by the Craven Arts Council & Gallery (CAC&G) and Religious Community Services (RCS).
