Grassroots Arts Program Grant

Applications for the FY 2020-2021 Cycle are now open. Please note that funds have not been dispersed yet and therefore final funding decisions will not be made.
The North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program distributes funds for arts programming, primarily through local arts councils, to all 100 North Carolina counties. As the Designated County Partner for Craven County, the Craven Arts Council & Gallery works closely with more than a dozen deserving groups to help bring programs to the communities in our area.

Call 252-638-2577 to inquire about the application process for 2020-2021. Applicants must be part of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing. The application deadline is 5:00 pm on September 5th.


Applicants should contact the Craven Arts Council & Gallery prior to submission.

The North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program provides art experiences to North Carolina communities. Using a per capita-based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Craven County. The Craven Arts Council & Gallery accepts applications for the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program.

Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations
•Theaters
•Galleries
•choral societies
•festivals
•arts-in-education programs conducted by qualified artists
•community organizations that provide arts programs

Community of Excellence received a Grassroots Grant for their Community Appreciation Jazz Concert at Orringer Hall.
All organizations that received Grassroots Grants funding for FY 2020-2021 are required to submit their final report by June 15th, 2021. Reports must be submitted physically, either in person or by mail. If mailing a report, please call or email Craven Arts Council to ensure your report was delivered.
