About Eve's Journey - Stepping on the Snake
Eve's Journey - Stepping on the Snake was created by fiber artist Naida Koraly, as she portrays world history through the eyes of women through stitched fabrics. This exhibition is inspired by her 10-year self-study of world history. Craven Arts Council & Gallery is proud to host Eve’s Journey – Stepping on the Snake in the Main Gallery of Bank of the Arts for the months of November and December 2024.
Eve’s Journey – Stepping on the Snake features a collection of 38 original handmade fiber following history through the eyes of women from different countries, cultures, and religions. This panoramic series will showcase the river of life that provides a visual connection to the next piece. All of Koraly’s artwork consists of her self-coined phrase “ah-life”, woven in each piece. Koraly describes herself as a lifelong leaner, as her greatest passions are to study, meditate and create. Through the use of distinct colors and bold symbolic imagery, Koraly aims to amplify the voices of women in her newest series. Additionally Naida has published a book called “Stories, Stitches & Sisters” featuring the artworks in her exhibition that will be available beginning November 8th to this end of the year.
