An Exhibition Highlighting the Work of Art Educators in the North Carolina Community College System
Expanding upon a 2018 exhibition that featured faculty from eight community colleges in eastern North Carolina, Creative Workforce focuses on community college educators, their roles in teaching the next generation of artists, and their own personal contributions to the field. It will also highlight the remarkable success and talent these instructors are able to achieve with limited resources, and importance of expanding those resources.
Artists are asked to register their participation in the exhibition by filling out the form below. There is no entry fee, however each artists is limited to one piece. While Bank of the Arts is primarily a visual arts facility, this exhibition will feature the opportunity for video arts or recordings of theater, music, and other artistic performances by community college faculty who wish to submit.
General Terms and Conditions:
*Artists must be at least 18 years of age and work within the art department of a North Carolina Community College. Teaching and administrative faculty are eligible to participate. *One piece per artist *Work may not exceed 48" in any dimension or 50lbs in weight without previous arrangement with the Gallery Director. Place contact them at gallery@cravenarts.org regarding larger works, installation pieces, or video/sound based works. *Mailed entries shall be accepted, however all shipping to and from Bank of the Arts shall be the responsibility of the artist. *Artists shall retain all copyright to their works, however artists shall grant CAC&G the right to publish and display work through print and digital media channels for promotional and business purposes. *The artist certifies that the work submitted is the original, unencumbered property of the artist. *Craven Arts Council & Gallery shall provide up to $2500 of insurance per piece for the duration of the exhibition. *CAC&G reserves the right to not display any works it considers to be malicious, defamatory, plagiarized, vexatious or otherwise intended to cause prejudice, or found to be in violation of county, state, or federal law. This right may be exercised without informing the originator of the content of the removal. |
Important Dates
Drop Off (Visual Works) June 30-July 3, 2020 (10am-5pm) Reception: 5pm-8pm, July 10, 2020 Pick Up (Visual Works) July 31 & August 1, 2020 (10am-5pm) For those interested in coordinating a group drop off or pick up from various parts of the state, CAC&G will send out an email of all registered participants on July 15th with contact information and general location. It will be the responsibility of the artists to arrange these group drops offs and pick ups, and CAC&G takes no responsibility for the work during transport.
