Craven Arts is proud to present the works of Brenda Gear for the month of September in the Director's Gallery.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Brenda Gear is a self-taught mixed – media artist now located in New Bern, NC. Beginning her art journey, Gear draws heavily on her experiences as an interior designer as an introduction to developing her craft. Gear enjoys the batik watercolor technique alongside mixed-media and describes herself as
an intuitive artist, using a vision and purpose to create bodies of work. She tends to work in series, influenced by
her travels.
As Gear now resides in New Bern, North Carolina, her artwork is featured at Lace Leaf Studios, a working studio gallery, and the Bank of the Art’s Sales Gallery. This exhibition will showcase Gear’s new body of work titled Mood Indigo highlighting the usage cold wax art. The opening reception at the Bank of the Arts will be
on September 13th at Artwalk from 5 – 8 pm.
