Grassroots Arts Program Grant
The North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program distributes funds for arts programming, primarily through local arts councils, to all 100 North Carolina counties. As the Designated County Partner for Craven County, the Craven Arts Council & Gallery works closely with more than a dozen deserving groups to help bring programs to the communities in our area.
Call 252-638-2577 to inquire about the application process for 2016-2017. Applicants must be part of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing. The application deadline is July 31st.
Following are the groups whose programs we (and you, as our members) helped make possible in 2016-2017: Carolina Chamber Music Festival, Community Artist Will, Community of Excellence, Craven Community Chorus, Down East FolkArts Society, Jazz Preservation Society, Southern Gentlemen Barbershop Quartet, and Twin Rivers Artists Association.
Applicants should contact the Craven Arts Council & Gallery prior to submission.
Organizations that have received a Grassroots Grant are required to submit a final report on the project. The deadline for 2016-2017 grantees is Tuesday, May 6th, at 5pm. The form for the final report is below.
The North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program provides art
experiences to North Carolina communities. Using a per capita-based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils.
Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Craven County. The Craven Arts Council & Gallery accepts applications for the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program.
Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations
•arts-in-education programs conducted by qualified artists
•community organizations that provide arts programs
